Software
The SciClone computing complex includes two principal application software environments, one based on Solaris/UltraSPARC and the other based on Linux/Opteron. Some packages are available only in the Solaris/UltraSPARC environment, others are available only in the Linux/Opteron environment, and some are available in both. If the documentation page for a particular package does not specifically mention availability, then it is most likely installed only for Solaris/UltraSPARC.
Going forward, Linux will be the primary application development environment on SciClone, while the legacy Solaris systems will be phased out. Hence, most additions to the software repertoire will be in the Linux environment. For a list of major software components supported in each environment, select one of the following links:
