The graduate program in computer science provides students with a well-balanced grounding in theory and practice involving both classwork and research opportunities leading to either Master's or PhD degrees.
The department's principal areas of research are Systems, Modeling and Simulation, Theory, Programming Languages, Artificial Intelligence and Scientific Visualization. In addition, in cooperation with the Mathematics Department, the department offers a Master's degree with Specialization in Computational Operations Reseach.
