GM is a low-level message
passing system for Myrinet. It includes the GM API and libraries, as
well as device drivers, a network mapper, and support for IP over Myrinet.
GM can be used directly to implement highly efficient message-passing
applications, or indirectly via higher-level libraries such as MPICH-GM
and LAM MPI.
GM 1.6.x supports both
32-bit and 64-bit applications. This eliminates the previous restriction
on SciClone that all GM-based applications had to be compiled for the
SPARC "v9" architecture.
Due to lack of demand,
we have yet to implement an interface script for launching and terminating
GM programs under SciClone's PBS job scheduler. If you need this capability,
please contact sciclone@compsci.wm.edu,
and we will try to provide it. Note that PBS interface scripts are
available for MPI programs which used GM-based libraries such as MPICH-GM
and LAM MPI. See the SciClone
User's Guide for more information about running MPI applications
on SciClone.
